Only 150 residents, get to attend many events organized by the social committee

Many organized social events organised by both the social committee and management, to be conducted in the lower level of the clubhouse, restrict attendance to the first 150 residents.

While 150 residents may sound like a large number of attendees, when you consider that we are now approaching 700 residents in this village, it's a little over 20% of the resident population. An alternative view of the same scenario is that nearly 80% of the village residents are unable to attend most of the organized functions in the clubhouse.

This should certaily NOT be the case, as all residents pay their recurring fees and all residents should be at least given the opportunity/option to attend a function organised by the social committee or management, within the resident's clubhouse.

When many of the residents attempt to put their names down for an event, it appears there are very limited spaces available, or the event is already booked out, within a day or two.

Better alternative

If the events are so popular, then perhaps the social committee or managment could run more than just the one event of the same nature. This would provide the opportunity for at least double the number of residents to attend organised events. To prevent doubling up, residents can only attend once, per event.

Got to try something

One thing for certain, if management and the social committee continue in the same vein, as the village gets larger, the chance of greater social interaction gets smaller. The job of both the social committee and management is to encourage greater social interaction amongst its residents, not to continue with limited number opportunities, which in itself can be divisive and seen as limited opportunities for friends or supporters of management or the social committee.
