Two years ago, many residents raised concerns about the temporary fencing erected by the operator around the golf course.

This fencing was intended to allow resident access to the golf course following its closure for 18 months but has since been identified as a potential safety issue.

Jennifer Stuart Smith informed residents that management is in the process of acquiring quotes for the construction of solid timber fencing, similar to the existing timber fencing bordering other sections of the golf course. This new fencing will replace the temporary barriers currently surrounding the golf course, now that the earthworks have been completed. The transition to the new fencing will occur in the near future, and residents will be regularly updated on the progress.

After 2 years, we are still waiting to hear from management regarding the replacement of the temporary fencing around the golf course.

It appears that the commitment made by management regarding this issue has not been addressed. It is concerning that the golf committee has not followed up with management to resolve this safety concern. Two years should have been sufficient time to replace the temporary fencing, yet there has been no progress. We would like to remind the golf committee and management that resident safety should be a top priority.

Safety of temporary fencing

There are some very steep slopes on the other side of these temporary fences.

One can reasonably assume that if a resident went over the edge of these slopes, it would result in serious injury and/or possibly death.

The temporary fencing erected at the moment, has in places, fallen over and is obvioulsy not capable of doing it's job, even on a temporary basis.

Management/Golf Committee, need to examine and rectify these temporary fences, to ensure the safety of our residents.

Solid Timber Fencing

The promised timber fences, with each post cemented in, would be a far safer prospect and enhance the look of the village. If one looks around the village, it could certaily do with some enhancements.
